From the brainstorming here's some early concepts:
2) Paisley pattern - with the love of textures, colours, fabrics, etc, use the simple paisley to represent various parts of the porfolio. Perhaps the paisley grows into other famous patterns like argyle, tartan and so forth to represent various parts of my work whether marketing or design focused.
3) Moped/Scooter Diaries - link to my love of vintage Europe. Best mode of transportation to get around in European towns (Italy, Greece, etc.). Could it be the Moped Diaries?
4) 60's vintage torn pieces of a photograph or postcard (sepia/faded colour) pieced together for each part of the portfolio that come together as one picture (one part from Zambia, England, Canada, Greece)
5) Outfits: Try one on! Select an outfit to represent parts of the portfolio (casual, business, formal).
Hi Sarah,
ReplyDeleteConceptually, these are all good starts. 1 and 5 are borderline cheezy but...we should not rule them out until you've taken the time to push them further and to sketch them out. I'd like to see you moodboard out your favorites to help us all envision your idea regarding aesthetic.
Based on your ambitions listed in your personal reflections, I'd say that 2, 3 and 4 work. be sure to push 2 more conceptually, it has the danger of simply becoming a look.
Hi Sarah!
ReplyDeleteGreat concepts, and they truly reflect your personality in different ways!
I think you can go with all of them and mix the different concepts together while making one of them the "dominant" theme.
I'd go with the patterns- there's so much flexibility and depth with what you can do
( bring in the swedish/60s style, add on some textures and create your own icons/patterns that reflect you/your work).
All the while I kept thinking about this shoe. The treatment is urban/hip hop/sport but uses a lot of patterns and textures that tells a story at the same time
